Contractors: Credit on Your Bill
Your earnings come off your own PoolTechy subscription automatically, up to $1,980 a year; anything past that is paid in cash. Rather have no limit? Switch to cash at any time. The switch is permanent.
Everyone Else: Cash Through Stripe
Set up a payout account in the app, verify your identity with Stripe, and withdraw your earnings to your bank.
Referral Program Rates
These are the Published Rates under the Referral Program Terms, in effect from October 3, 2026. The rates in effect when a business uses your code are recorded on that referral and apply to it for its whole life.

What the Referred Business gets. 50% off its PoolTechy subscription for three months, counted from when the code is applied. Free-trial time counts toward the three months. The offer is for businesses new to PoolTechy: a business that has had a PoolTechy subscription or free trial before cannot use a code.
When an installment is earned. Each time the Referred Business pays a PoolTechy subscription invoice that, after payment-processing fees, is at least the installment amount. A smaller invoice earns nothing and does not count toward the 12 (Referral Terms, Section 5).
The Referral Program is governed by the Referral Program Terms and the Terms of Service.
Referral Program Questions
No. Anyone with a PoolTechy account can get a code. Contractors with their own subscription can take their earnings as credit on it; everyone else is paid in cash.
A pool business that is new to PoolTechy, within 30 days of creating its account. You can’t use your own code, and a business can use only one.
Each $20 is held for 30 days after the payment that earned it, in case that payment is refunded. Then it goes on your bill as credit, or into your cash balance to withdraw.
Yes: $1,980 a calendar year. It limits the credit, not what you earn, because anything past it is paid in cash. To skip the limit entirely, switch to cash in the app at any time. The switch is permanent, so you can’t go back to account credit afterwards.
Earnings stop when their payments stop. Payments they already made still count.
Yes, but say that you earn a commission when someone uses it, right next to the recommendation. Codes can’t be listed on coupon or deal sites or used in paid ads on PoolTechy’s name.
Commission is income. If you’re paid $2,000 or more in a year, PoolTechy reports it on a Form 1099, using the taxpayer ID you give Stripe when you set up a payout account.
